Analysis of web information resources in the field of education

The purpose of the thesis is to search out, analyse and evaluate an open access and commercial electronic information resources in educational theories available on WWW. First and sekond part determinates topic of education, describes his development, problems, nomenclature, experimental method and information support. The objective of the thesis is to analyse and evaluate selected bibliographic and full-text databases, digital libraries, portals, subject gateways and catalogs. Online services are especially emphasized. Analyses are elaboration in the Czech education theory context. Final summary evaluates results of analysis.
Pupils' conceptions of science and scientists and possibilities of influencing them

The aim of the diploma thesis was to describe pupils' conceptions of science and scientists and also to suggest some possibilities to influence them. In the theoretical part of the thesis common knowledge of pupils' conceptions of science and scientists is described. It also summarises researches following up these issues, and conceptions of science education at primary school in the Czech Republic and other chosen states. In the empirical part a research focused on getting information about pupils' knowledge of science and scientists and their approach is presented. The results show, that pupils' conceptions of science and scientists are heterogeneous and the role of out-of-school activities of chosen pupils was more significant than influence of school. In the final part of the thesis there are appropriate ways how to influence pupils' conceptions of the area of science at school are outlined
The description of the running technique of the Czech record holder in sprint in the category of 15 years

Title: The description of the running technique of the Czech record holder in sprint in the category of 15 years. Objectives: The main aim of my Bachelor study was to describe the technique running of a sprinter in the category of 15 years. Based on the methodology of educational research we evaluated the level of the running technique on the shortest sprint track in the category of 15 years, on the 60 meters, by the deliberately chosen individual. The monitored object is the current best sprinter in the Czech Republic in the category of 15 years. Methods: In the presented Bachelor study there are used the educational methods as the observation and the questionnaire. Using the observation and the subsequent description we monitored the performance of individual techniques in terms of block starts, acceleration and full-speed running. We also monitored the performance level of this young talented sprinter in athletic seasons 2009 and 2010. We used the questioning to determine the possible early stages of specialised athletic training. Results: Thank to the set plan of the Bachelor study, we recorded, in terms of the running technique of the observed subject, an individual sprint performance, which did not differ from the standard description of the sprint technique. Perception of the importance of physics by students at elementary school

The aim of this diploma thesis is to introduce wayshow teachers can make their elementary school pupils more perceptive to learning physics by the means of specific methods. The thesis first examines on howthe subject is perceived by pupils. It later inquires whether the usage of physical experiments changes how they feel about physics. Initially, the work makes use of an Intrinsic Motivation Inventory (IMI) questionnaire. The collected information is later compared and hypotheses are made. Next, the thesis describes how the structural dialogue with elementary school pupils was prepared and subsequently executed to prove the hypotheses. The questionnaire results put a base to the final conclusions and suggestions which can be applied in a classroom.
Problems of novice teachers

The present thesis Problems Faced by Beginning Teachers deals with the issue of beginning teachers and their problems in their first years of teaching. The aim of this paper is to identify key problems of beginning teachers. An analysis of scientific literature and other relevant documents, questionnaires and narrative interviews with beginning teachers were used to achieve a project objective. The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter focuses on the concept of a teacher and their professional development. The second chapter describes teacher training, the third one deals with a role of mentors and the fourth chapter presents some potential problems that beginning teachers might face. The problems could be divided into several different categories, for instance, teaching problems, organizational problems, material and technical problems and social problems. The fifth chapter involves empirical research in the form of questionnaires, narrative interviews and my own introspection. The respondents are beginning teachers who are in their first five years of teaching experience.

Diagnostics of selected preconceptions to the technical education of pupils 4. - 5. elementary school classes

This diploma thesis deals with the issues and the diagnostics of preconceptions relating to technical education. The theory is focused on the process of learning, constructivist pedagogy, content of technical education for the first grade of primary schools and methods of data collection in educational research. In the practical part investigates grades of integration of preconceptions using questionnaires and cognitive maps. In the practical section provides information about the performed research, processing results and the conclusions drawn from them. The respondents were pupils of 4th and 5th grade of elementary school Nuselská in Havlíčkův Brod.
